International Conference on Lymphocyte Engineering 2018

The First International Conference on Lymphocyte Engineering (ICLE 2018) will take place on September 13-15, 2018 in Madrid Spain.

The engineering of lymphocytes for the treatment of cancer, autoimmune diseases, pathogenic diseases and primary immune deficiencies has made great progress in the past years. Combining gene therapy, cell therapy and immune therapy, the emerging field of lymphocyte engineering employs cutting edge technologies of viral and non-viral vectorology, genome editing and protein design as well as advanced clinical protocols for cell harvest, expansion and re-infusion.

ICLE 2018 will welcome scientists, clinical researchers, young entrepreneurs as well as established industry to share ideas and foster collaborations in the field of immune-gene therapy.

Prof. Christian Buchholz, head of the Section of Molecular Biotechnology and Gene Therapy at CARAT partner Paul-Ehrlich Institut (PEI), will be present at the conference as an invited speaker. PEI is involved in CARAT in the evaluation of lentiviral vectors targeted to subtypes of T cells for their potential to improve and facilitate the CAR T cell manufacturing process.
